The PR and communication profession is one that is often misunderstood and underappreciated. Organisations and individuals alike often think of PR in very singular terms and often as a backup when a crisis hits. Public relations practice transcends this myopic view.

Public Relations is a strategic and integral part of societies, businesses, government, and the global polity as a whole. Without understanding the true significance of PR & communication, the enormous benefit of the profession cannot be felt or seen. It is for this reason that practitioners are constantly contending to change the narrative.

One of the ways this is happening is through World PR day – a day set aside to amplify & spotlight the PR practice, have progressive conversations about the issues facing the practice as well as celebrate PR professionals working tirelessly to make organizations, government, and business more trustworthy, truthful and transparent.

World PR day takes place on 16 July 2022 The theme for this year’s World PR Day is Trust, Truth, and Transparency.

World PR day is an initiative of BlackHouse Media (BHM).

This year’s celebration will see PR professionals across the globe drive insightful conversations on the three Ts and how they influence both our input and output as professionals.

For this year’s World PR day, we urge you first and foremost to celebrate yourself and all you’ve accomplished as a PR and comms professional, collaborate more with other professionals, use your platform to keep amplifying PR voices, and go ahead to ask for those ‘history creating’ and ‘culture shaping’ opportunities because PR & communication is all about that!
